Curious to see the price points on it. Thought it was an interesting choice to bring in that selection now. Nothing against the strategy they think is right, I'm just finding all the different directions slightly disorienting.

Most of the DC selection now is doing pretty good, I wouldn't say there's any one that's best. For AC, I've been impressed with recent Quorum/Oxygen. I think Fanimation has still been decent there, too. Hinkley was pretty good in the one AC I've worked with, but that's really carryover from Regency and they always seemed to be kind of hit or miss. Hunter can still be good, but often hit or miss.

Loaded question. Depends on a variety of factors, and for me, also largely depends on if we're talking a specific era.

Kind of, I guess. You really just pull one end or the other like a regular chain, only it doesn't snap back.

Yes. There's an additional chime in the basement because both of my grandparents spent a fair amount of time down here, and it can be hard to hear the doorbell. I actually love that it's there now, great for when I'm there and expecting packages. Used to be a larger chime box on the other side of the wall where some of the portable display shelves are. I had to move it to do my displays and got a new smaller profile unit at that time.

Sanyo will have to hold you over for metal blades in that size range. Wasn't going to be an industrial there even before the FASCO swap. There will be times I want to go without; at least there are other metal blades this time to make up some for it.

My suggestion: You can move the Fasco into the Union Emperor location (if it doesn't hit the Sanyo) and install an industrial in the former Canarm location.

It's just a suggestion, I will ofcourse enjoy the displays without industrials.

Original blades were trashed when I got that fan, this is the only proper spare set I have so it's not really a choice. Polarizing combination. Some people hate it, I personally like it just fine.

FASCO themselves called it the Gillespie, I can't remember if it was sold with a different name under alternate labels.

That's usually me as well, seriously been around the block vastly too many times, but this one being fully on top nowhere near anything I touched really threw me. It also didn't help that I truly thought a wire popped off for the control even as I installed it. It was almost entirely screwed in and I thought "I should really check that now rather than be annoyed in a minute and waste more time", but didn't. And I was indeed annoyed, especially after that wasn't even the problem! 💆‍♂️

Several of these have already made the rounds on the new display. It can't be recreated in full because I no longer have some of what's shown.

I need to look at them again! I know what I'm doing for install so I usually just skim through, and I didn't notice that. Sounds about right. Knowing some of the other models from pre-canopy receiver days, they probably recycled portions from those manuals.

Model number was cross-referenced with another new in box product. Definitely was sold as a Waldon.

The Irene series is really design-friendly and gorgeous, but their general design does not make them the best air movers. Chunky carved wood blades like these are, by nature, not the most airflow-efficient. I don't have much personal experience with the 5 blade models or even the larger models so I'm not sure how fast they run, but generally more blades move even less air, and DC motors tend to do lower RPM so the speed probably is slower. If yours are the hugger version like this, huggers tend to greatly lose airflow efficiency the larger they get in blade span, because of the increased constriction of space above the blades. They can probably comment better in regards to your specific model, but these days there's a lot of variance in airflow level and delivery based on the overall design of the fan, which can make selecting something for ultimate function a bit more difficult on the consumer front.

I have the two that were complete and functional. They're in horrendous physical condition so I've never really brought them back out. Eventual projects to work on.

Would be nice, but there are too many wild cards in mounting systems to make it actually feasible.
